The State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) is a series of state-mandated standardized tests used in Texas schools to assess a student’s achievements and knowledge learned in the grade level or course. In an effort to create an atmosphere of testing integrity, please note the following information that will affect all students on our campus; No campus visitations or guests at HSA Dallas on STAAR testing days or on the STAAR makeup testing days. Please refrain from making any lunch deliveries on STAAR testing days. Parents, you may help your student by ensuring that they have plenty of rest the night before they are scheduled to test, eat a well-balanced breakfast the morning of testing, Students will be provided a cold lunch on EOC testing days only and remember they can bring a sack lunch on their scheduled testing day. We will break for lunch, but students will eat lunch in their testing rooms on April 9 & 11 only during English I & II testing days. Students will be provided lunch break after testing is over for 7 & 8-grade students.
