Harmony Public Schools hosts HPS Reading Challenge

Reading skills are foundational to educational success for all students.

Encouraging students to read more improves their skills and promotes a love of reading they can continue throughout their educational years and into adulthood.

That’s why Harmony Public Schools is hosting a fall Reading Challenge for all students in all campuses.

Join your classmates from across your campus and across the state from Monday, September 21, 2020 though Sunday, January 3, 2021 as together we show our love for reading and discover new and exciting ideas, authors, and stories through our favorite books.

Along the way, we’ll recognize our top readers and campuses each month, share favorite book picks, and ask for your reviews on some of your favorite reads.

The reading challenges by grade are:

Kindergarten – Grade 2
20 Books

Grade 3-5
10 Novels
3 Fiction
3 Nonfiction
1 Poetry
3 Student Choice

Grade 6-8
12 Novels
4 Fiction
4 Nonfiction

Town Hall Zoom meeting for School Reopening

     Harmony Science Academy High Dallas

Good afternoon Harmony High School Families,

Over the weekend the Board of Directors for Harmony, in consultation with medical and local authorities, determined that Dallas Academy High School will not open its door to any form of in-person learning until September 28th. More information will be released on how we will open on September 28th. Until then, all students will continue in the online learning format.

We will host a zoom parent town hall Thursday the September 10th at 6:00 pm to answer questions. This is open to all parents and students, but we particularly encourage those who chose “in person” to attend.

Buenas Tardes Familias Harmony High School,

Durante el fin de semana, la Junta Directiva de Harmony, consulatron con las autoridades médicas y locales, determinó que Dallas Academy High School no abrirá sus puertas a ninguna forma de aprendizaje en persona hasta el 28 de Septiembre. Se dará a conocer más información sobre cómo abriremos el 28 de Septiembre. Hasta entonces, todos los estudiantes continuarán en el formato de aprendizaje en línea.

Vamos a organizar un junta de padres por zoom el Jueves 10 de Septiembre a las 6:00 pm para responder preguntas. Esto está abierto a todos los padres y estudiantes, pero animamos particularmente a aquellos que eligieron “en persona” para asistir.

GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) Announcement!

In accordance with the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented students, Harmony Public Schools will begin taking referrals for kindergarten and newly- enrolled students in grades 1-12 for gifted and talented screening.  Anyone interested in the educational welfare of these students may refer them for assessment.
